At Faith Lutheran Church we believe in creating strong and healthy families. And that begins with a strong and healthy marriage. Just as we all have been trained for our professions, viagra we need training for our marriages — yet most of us do not put in as much time for them as we do for our jobs. When was the last time you took the time to learn to be a better spouse? Or read a book on marriage or attended a seminar? I try to read one to two books on marriage each year. One of the books I have read and refer to couples often is “Love and Respect” by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. The title alone speaks volumes.
Dr. Eggerichs is on tour and is a co-sponsor of this seminar with Matt Loehr’s organization, shop “Dare to Be Different”, which stands for “Discover strengths and weaknesses”; “Ask great questions”; “Require action”; and “Evaluate the process.” I have met with Matt Loehr before and have considered having him over to Faith, for he has trained more that 6,000 people in seven countries to become marriage mentors in the past nine years. In fact, that is what they do in Africa and their divorce rate is around 10% — they counsel couples with a pastor and two healthy married couples.
The Seminar is Friday, April 10th at Heritage Church, at 7 p.m. The cost or should I say, the investment in your marriage is only $30. Or if we could get a group of eight the cost is only $210. To register you need to call 563-386-1900.
