People are watching us. On Saturday, health after a wedding I went shopping at one of my favorite stores the Dollar store. As I was checking out wearing my pastor shirt, the woman behind me asked me what church I was from. I told her that I am a pastor at Faith Lutheran Church. She asked, the church by Spring Brook Court? I said, yes that’s the one. Then she went on to say
that a couple of years ago she moved here from Chicago with almost nothing and worshipped at Faith Lutheran Church. “The people at that church are so nice. They welcomed me. They gave me food. And a lady even gave me a ride home after church. That is a real great church.” I said thank you and said that it was good to hear. Well done good and faithful servants!
We need to be on our game each and every Sunday. Others are watching. As Paul says in Philippians 1:27, “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel,” We need to live a life worthy of the gospel every day.
Prayer: Lord, help me to to live a life worthy of your love for me. In Christ. Amen.
