We hope you will visit this NEW WEBSITE often. Yes, salve it is still under construction in many ways but we are committed to updating it on a regular basis.
As many of you may know, I have been serving on the board for the Night to Honor Israel for several years now. Vicki and I, will be attending a national event called Christians United For Israel this next week in Washington D.C. CUFI has been bringing Christians and the Jewish people together for over 25 years. The Bible is clear, in Genesis 12:3 God says, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you”
As a Christian who is a Lutheran, I believe we need to recognize and celebrate our faith heritage which includes Roman Catholicism and Judaism. We owe a lot to our Jewish brothers and sisters. Gentiles (non-Jewish people) have been blessed for helping Jews throughout the Bible. One of the most well known stories is in Luke 7, where a Roman centurion pleaded with Jesus to heal and save his servant from imminent death. The Jewish people begged Jesus, saying that this centurion is deserving, “for he loves our nation (Israel), and has built us a synagogue.” Jesus healed the servant. Why? Because the Gentile had blessed the nation of Israel.
Besides Judaism giving us Jesus — there are many other things we have received from the children of Israel to much to go into here. In order to understand better, I recommend two books regarding this subject, Standing with Israel by David Brog and In Defense of Israel by John Hagee. This would be a great topic for a small group/Life Group sometime where we would discuss the myths of Replacement Theology and God’s unconditional covenant with Israel.
Lord, thank you for sharing the Covenant You made with Your people Israel with us. May we honor You by honoring them. In Jesus name, amen.
