T oday at the Dan Jerusalem Hotel (which is an awesome hotel) we heard from Pastor Steven Khoury, diagnosis co-founder of Holy Land Missions (HLM). I have video taped several of our presenters of which I am excited to share with you, store including Pastor Khoury who is an Arab Christian. At the age of 16, look he was physically attacked and beaten by seven radical men with metal chains and wooden sticks for teaching a young man about Jesus Christ. He comments,
“This beating made me realize how real Jesus was, and as the metal chains came on my body I remember saying, Lord if you get me through this I will love you and serve you even more.” Since then, he has been serving the Lord.
In 1998, his Uncle George was martryed for his faith. Uncle George understood the need for ministry, “Jerusalem must have a lighthouse.” Pastor Khoury will be coming to the United States and speaking
at the Churches United for Israel in July, in Washington D.C. This ministry is connecting with many Muslims. They have rented facilities over and over again, only to not able to renew their lease because of Muslim pressures, threats, and burnings. They now are attempting to purchase their own facility. They have both above and below ground meetings. They distribute CD’s, school packs, food packages, satellite broadcast, medical outreach, billboard campaign, and more. They are doing what we are doing — in a much more difficult environment. Every summer over 300 children from the community are taught scriptures and love. Pray for this ministry.
