Philippians 3:12-16
Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained. 1026 Attendees at LCMC

LCMC logo for twitterWe had another great gathering in DesMoines with a 1026 in attendance at the LCMC Gathering. I have been attending the LCMC Gatherings for five years now since 2009. For those of you who were at Faith in 2009, know that it was a very painful and challenging time for us as a church and for me as a pastor as we were being attack by our former church body. At that first gathering in Omaha, 2009, people would pray over Vicki and I at almost every meal. It was a very powerful and emotional time for us. Being covered in prayer is regular occurance at LCMC gatherings. At the close of the service every year since then when we sing Amazing Grace in the service, I weep.

Rev. Dr. Ron and Mickey Dingle

I was truly blessed today by visiting with my childhood pastor at the LCMC Gathering. It was then at the agePastorRonDingle of 5 years old that he inspired me into ministry. He did Lenten Dramas some 52 yeaars ago at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I too found out today that Pastor Tim picked up Pastor Dingle at the airport, who served in Food for the Poor for over 15 years, when Pastor Tim interned in Hazen, ND.

LCMC 2014 Gathering: Reason for Hope

LCMC logo2[1]We have arrived safe and sound for the 14th Annual Gathering of  Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). Those attending are Bruce and Lori Dalfonso, Pastor Tim and Pastor Mark. There are over 1000 participants this year. The theme is Reason for Hope. As it says in 1 Peter 3:15, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

After registering, supper, and a powerful worshp experience, we bumped into an old friend,
